In keeping with our humanistic values, many members of Kol
Haverim donate their time to helping others and making our
community a better place to live. As a group, Kol Haverim hopes to
sponsor three special community service events each year that our
members can participate in together.

Community Service Month is scheduled for the month of Heshvan October 19-November 17. This almost corresponds to an initiative by the Secular Student Alliance called Secular Service Day on or around October 18. That's double the reason to participate in the upcoming community service event.
This year, on Tuesday, October 27, I hope you will participate as Kol Haverim provides bagged lunches for the homeless, distributed by the Friendship Center of the Red Cross.
There are a couple of ways to participate.
You can:
(1) donate and drop-off lunch-making supplies
or
(2) you can help prepare the bag lunches.
We'll need supplies for about 50 lunches. The lunches will include a sandwich, a healthy side snack, a fresh fruit, and perhaps a dessert. I welcome ideas for the specific contents.
If you would like to donate supplies, please contact me now.
If you would like to participate on that Tuesday morning, please contact me now.
I have not arranged a specific time yet and will work that out with those who want to help. I know doing this on a weekday morning is inconvenient, but lunches need to be delivered by 11am and should be prepared fresh.
